Class of Spring 2015
Travel Dates: June 25 - July 5, 2015
This QU301 DR class of 20 students, held in the spring of 2015, travelled to the Dominican Republic in the early summer of 2015. These students had the opportunity to serve and learn while being involved with construction projects, medical clinics, food distribution, educational programs, and more, working with 81 volunteers from the Dominican Republic Mission Team.
During the classroom portion of the course, the students learned about the issues and conditions in the Dominican Republic and other parts of the world. The set up of this course allows the students to experience the realities of life in the bateyes and the people who live there. After returning to the United States, all students produced a research paper dedicated to a problem experienced in the DR and potential solutions related to their major and areas of experitise.
